Twenty five years ago the state of Kansas became one of the few states to protect student speech in school publications. The legacy has been huge as Kansas high school journalists have been among the best in the country. So, it’s time to celebrate, reflect and push forward.
Martha Bartlett Piland will speak to students from across the state about the WHYs and HOWs of personal branding. In this interactive session, they'll learn about developing their own personal brand. They'll also learn best practices on resumés, interviewing and networking.
The Kansas Scholastic Press Association supports student journalism from its office at the University of Kansas. They program conferences, contests, critiques, awards and scholarships for 100+ member schools. They strive to celebrate all-star student journalists so that their accomplishments are just as prestigious as athletics or other academics.
