The Shawnee Heights Unified School District 450 is a growing district, with a beloved and unique high school mascot: the thunderbird. The district wanted to establish a visual to represent the entire USD 450 and its mission To Prepare Students of Today for the Opportunities of Tomorrow.

The torch, a symbol of learning, liberty, inspiration, knowledge and teaching, was created in the style of the Thunderbird, and all the elementary mascots were similarly reimagined to fit into the brand family.
